Scholarships are available for qualified students and there are numerous work opportunities in the department. Undergraduates at any level are ecouraged to become involved in ongoing research projects with faculty members. One semester of undergraduate research, usually in the junior or senior year, is required for all chemistry majors. In addition, students can arrange to work with faculty for financial compensation. As part of the experience students are given hands-on training in the safe and effective use of state-of-the-art research techniques. Research training is invaluable to students preparing for industrial careers as well as for those planning to attend graduate or medical school.
In addition to our scholarship and research opportunities, several other service positions (e.g. storeroom attendant, teaching assistants for seniors) are available in the department.
