|Avance 400 Mz NMR with sample changer (2013)|
The Chemistry Department houses the Statewide NMR Facility, which has four NMR spectrometers and a fifth soon to be installed. For routine liquid-state spectroscopy, the fully automated Bruker AVANCE III HD 400 with SampleXpress sample changer is available. Longer-term liquid-state and some solid-state experiments can be performed on the Agilent (Varian) Inova 400, while the Agilent Inova 600 is equipped or both liquid- and solid-state triple-resonance experiments on macromolecules or other samples requiring greater resolution and sensitivity. Through computer networking, users may transfer and process data, and operate spectrometers statewide, with some limitations. An Agilent (Chemagnetics) CMX-II 300 MHz solid-state spectrometer (with wide bore magnet) is also available. The incoming system will be a Bruker AVANCE III HD 400WB, with wide bore magnet, dedicated to diffusion, microimaging, and solid-state NMR.
